Orthophoto map with resolution of 1 mm – Ljubljana city Square renovation

Project Overview

This was our first cultural heritage project done using photogrammetry, and could mean the use of state-of-the-art techniques in future practices.

In order to renovate this particular square in the centre of Ljubljana an accurate orthophoto with resolution of 1 mm was needed. The images were captured with Olympus EPL 7 camera and DJI S900 drone from a height of 20m.

3Dsurvey enabled us to produce an accurate orthophoto map of the area, serving as a great archive of the current situation as well. For accurate orientation we used ground control targets – black dots with 25mm radius, simply printed on paper. Ground control targets were measured using a total station.
